MANILA, Philippines - Which party’s bets for governor and mayor dominated the local races?
During the May 2013 Philippine national and local elections, this dynamic map provided the bird’s-eye view of how the local races shaped up, real-time. It rendered live election results data from almost 80,000 counting machines in polling precincts nationwide. The machines fed results to the Rappler Mirror Server via the Transparency Server of the Commission on Elections.
Drag the time lapse bar from left to right to view snapshots at particular points of the transmission process. On default, the map shows summaries at regional level. Click on the menu to view the situation in the provinces, cities and municipalities. Click on each shape in the map to see the names of local candidates and their corresponding votes.
These results are PARTIAL and UNOFFICIAL. The OFFICIAL RESULTS, which were used as basis for the proclamation of winners, were those transmitted by the voting machines to the Municipal Board of Canvassers and eventually to the National Board of Canvassers.
DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, only 76% of the counting machines were able to transmit through this system. View Rappler's PCOS transmission status map to see areas that failed to electronically send results.
